The 2021 PDC World Darts Championship is very much on the horizon and ahead of the draw this week, the seeds have been confirmed.

Michael van Gerwen as expected will be number one seed and inhabits a section which includes World Matchplay champion Dimitri van den Bergh, Joe Cullen and Dave Chisnall.

But it is the second section which is really stacked. Michael Smith, Devon Petersen, Gary Anderson and Mensur Suljovic as well as Premier League champion Glen Durrant and former World Champion Rob Cross all are together.

The way the seeds work is that they could face each other in the third round if they win their second round matches so these could be the potential matches if they win through.

Also a tricky section is the third one with reigning World Champion, Peter Wright potentially set for a meeting with Gabriel Clemens. While Krzysztof Ratajski could take on Simon Whitlock.

Gerwyn Price who will be one of the favourites for the title could encounter 'The History Maker' Brendan Dolan while new Grand Slam champion Jose de Sousa could take on recent Players Championship finalist, Mervyn King.
