Selections of four countries for 2023 World Cup of Darts announced

The players who will represent Ukraine, Bahrain, India and New Zealand at this year's World Cup of Darts have been announced by the PDC.

The Ukrainian selection includes Vladyslav Omelchenko, who also made his appearance at the last World Darts Championship. He will be joined by Illia Pekaruk. The latter won the qualification tournament in Ukraine last weekend.

Basem Mahmood and Abdulnasser Yusuf will make their debut for Bahrain at the country tournament. The Indian team includes Prakash Jiwa and Nitin Kumar, while Ben Robb and Warren Parry will make up the New Zealand team.

It was recently revealed that the format for the World Cup of Darts has undergone a major overhaul. A total of forty countries will participate in the country tournament and only pair matches will be played.

Moreover, the tournament starts with a group stage. The group stage consists of twelve groups of three countries each. The winner of each group will advance to the knockout phase. The four top nations England, the Netherlands, Wales and Scotland are directly through to the latter stages.
