Beau Greaves was once again a cut above the rest of the field last week in Blackpool. In the final of the Women's World Matchplay, the 19-year-old Englishwoman won 6-1 over Mikuru Suzuki.
Matthew Edgar, himself a former pro darter and mostly working as an analyst these days, is impressed with Greaves' performance. "Nowhere near your best and still winning, that's what we used to say about
Phil Taylor. Whether he played well or not, he won. Beau Greaves is building that kind of aura around her in the women's game and you can see that. They know she's the one to beat and they don't have the formula right now."
Q-School
The question is whether Greaves can live up to it on the Pro Tour among the men. "Development Tour for sure, that's the next logical step for her. Stay well away from Q-school, you don't need to be there. There is plenty more darts to go," Edgar poses.
"We know what the Pro Tour is like, you can get eaten up and quickly lose that aura. Development Tour, that's the next logical step."
