Fallon Sherrock made history again on Sunday winning the inaugural edition of the PDC Women's World Matchplay defeating Aileen de Graaf 6-3 in the final.
"It feels amazing, if someone had said that to me like a week ago, I'd be like really I don't believe you but I always had a self belief in myself and I can look at this and say all the pressure that's behind me is worth it to say I've won a really big title. I think that's the biggest trophy I've ever won in my life," said Sherrock post match.
"I needed to put the hours in more and focus on what I wanted to do because this one I knew it was to get to the Grand Slam of Darts and that's what I wanted to do. I tried my hardest to try and win it, as soon as Lisa went out I thought I have to win."
The Queen of the Palace and now the Winter Gardens believes that the small field lends itself to more fiercer competition and that personally it's the biggest tournament she has played in.
"It's such a small number of women that can actually qualify for it. Women want to play on the big stages, women want to play for really big money. Hopefully it encourages more women to play the Women's Series and go they've done really well at that competition, I want to be part of it, I want to get into the Grand Slam and World Championship."
Facing Katie Sheldon in her opener, she had some glowing words for the Irish youngster.
"I'm quite grateful she missed those doubles. I knew Katie was going to play well anyway as she reminds me of me when I was younger, you're not scared of anyone or anything. You just go and play your game. What's she going to be like in a couple of years, more opportunities given to her and she's going to excel."
