Fallon Sherrock will fly home with only a solitary win to her name during her time in Australia and New Zealand after losing out in a thrilling tie against Kiwi debutant, Kayden Milne 6-5 at the New Zealand Darts Masters in Hamilton.
Milne recovered from 5-3 down on his TV debut to see off 'The Queen of the Palace' who missed a match dart in the deciding leg to defeat 'Half Stubby' who gained the love of the crowd playing with a smile on his face throughout.
Sherrock took out 94 to seal a 2-0 lead in the early going over Milne. But the debutant hit back with a 109 checkout to level up at 2-2.
The Milton Keynes thrower pinned an 83 checkout to go 3-2 up to hold. Milne missed three darts to hold but Sherrock couldn’t pin a 136 checkout which allowed the Kiwi back for parity at 3-3.
A 72 checkout from Sherrock saw her edge back ahead at 4-3. Milne started poorly on throw and Sherrock hit a 48 checkout to break and was throwing for the match.
Sherrock though saw her throw under threat as Milne missed darts to break but returned for double 12 to go 5-4 down as he was throwing to send it all the way.
Milne missed two darts to send it all the way but three more came his way hitting double 10 to make it 5-5.
Sherrock was first to a finish on 92 missing double 16 to claim it and Milne returned for the same target.
But on the other hand, James Wade is through after having to produce a comeback win to see off Gordon Mathers after reaching the final last week in Wollongong.
Mathers went 2-1 up with a 94 checkout and broke again to open up a commanding 4-1 lead which sent Wade into trouble. But the moment which turned the game came to make it 4-4 as Wade returned for a 145 checkout to draw level.
Mathers went 5-4 up but couldn't seal the deal as Wade sent it all the way and made him pay after Mathers missed a match dart off 106 hitting double 20 first time.
