Fallon Sherrock will be part of the line-up at the 2020 UK Open at Butlins, Minehead after claiming victory in a Riley's Amateur Qualifier held on Saturday in Wolverhampton.
Sherrock became the
first woman to win a match at the PDC World Championship in December and will be part of the World Series in
all events; as well as the
Premier League in nearby Nottingham in just over two weeks time.
Despite that, it was the different surroundings of Rileys for the Milton Keynes ace with 200 players involved; she won through to the board final where she took on James Richardson; who faced Mikuru Suzuki at the recent PDC World Championship; it was Sherrock who prevailed 4-0.
She was joined in the semi-finals as a result by Stuart White, Ant Allen and experienced player Paul Rowley. The latter was awaiting her in the semi-final; she eased past Rowley 4-1 to get into the final against White.
White won the bull and went one nil up in the best of nine match but Sherrock didn't drop a leg from there easing through 5-1 just before midnight to confirm her place in Minehead. She will join Lisa Ashton in the field who of course qualifies as part of the 128 PDC Tour Card holders.
