"She's good enough on her day, she can beat anybody" - Rhian O'Sullivan backs Beau Greaves for successful PDC Pro Tour debut

Rhian O'Sullivan won the Dutch Open Darts for the first time in her career last weekend. The 44-year-old Welshwoman defeated Dutchwoman Lerena Rietbergen 5-2 in the final in Assen, after previously overcoming Beau Greaves in the semis.
Nearly a week after her triumph, O'Sullivan, in conversation with Tungsten Tales looked back on her shining performance. "it's a bit surreal to be honest," the former world finalist reflects. "I'm very happy to win it. It is one of the biggest tournaments that's around, so it's difficult, but yeah I'm delighted with it."
For O'Sullivan, it was a welcome boost after she lost out quickly at the 2024 WDF World Championship against Lerena Rietbergen in early December. "I didn't quite give her the game I know I can at Lakeside," recalls the Welshwoman. "So it was a bit like I was trying to make things right a little bit."

The Dutch Open Darts in a 'golden' tournament within the WDF and as a result O'Sullivan is immediately qualified for the 2025 WDF World Championship. " I think it eases the pressure of having to go to loads of things and I was going to step a back anyway. So it definitely eases the pressure," she assesses. "I don't have to have chase the points, and I can just go and enjoy what I want now.
Arguably O'Sullivan's biggest win of the weekend came in the semi-finals, when she overcame Beau Greaves. Next week though, the women's world champion is set to make a historic debut on the PDC Pro Tour, and O'Sullivan couldn't be more excited to see Greaves test herself against the best men in the world.
"She's just so unique, so amazing and got so much talent it's unbelievable. And she's so young, so she's got so much time to get better," O'Sullivan says of Greaves. "She's improving all the time, so hopefully she shows what she can do, and I hope she smashes everybody to be honest. My wishes to her. She's good enough on her day, she can beat anybody. I don't think she realizes how good she is."

And if darts disappears off free to air ITV, it certainly won't go to the BBC, who couldn't afford it, even if they were interested. So, that leaves Channel 4 or maybe Channel 5. - ITV coverage is far superior to SKY It is excellent, always very interesting from an extremely knowledgeable team. I love Chris Mason, Jacqui, Alan and Ned, brilliant presenters and so enjoyable. ITV are also losing their absolutely fantastic Tour de France coverage. They do not get enough credit for the fantastic job they do. What the fudge do BBC do with darts? - I was always a fan of Rocky, another one of my heroes banished never to return....unless he changes his name to Anne. Andy didn't need to fix matches, he is a good player and wealthy. It sounds like too many people were involved in the bets, and it rather suitably circumstantial. Richie Gardiner has heat with Rocky. How can anyone predict where a player will throw a dart, I purposely avoided hitting 180 when I played as the organisation would pay £10 for each 180 hit to a charity I refused to contribute to. - Surely then as darts is ‘your job’ then do your job and less exhibitions even if they pay more, or retire and do the exhibition circuit. Appreciate that exhibitions are gauranteed income, you get your fee. Still say scrap the Premier League and even out the season, its only eight of the top guys who lose anything money wise and its not like they are struggling for income.Mysstree29-04-2025
