🐂 Michael Smith has thrown more 180s in the PDC at this stage of the year than anybody else in history at the same stage of any previous year for which we have 180 records. 😲
Michael Smith is on a very strong run with four titles in the last four weeks, culminating in his final victory at the US Darts Masters in New York.
Perhaps his rise is due to the high number of 180s Smith has thrown, as never before has a player at this point in the season thrown as many 180s as 'Bully Boy' in 2022, according to statistics from Darts Orakel.
He has already thrown a maximum 382 times this year. This puts Smith miles ahead of number two Peter Wright (308) and number three Joe Cullen (273).
The old record of 180 scores on 7 June was held by Michael van Gerwen. The Dutchman had 366 180-scores in 2018.
Smith still has to work hard to take over Van Gerwen's annual record. Mighty Mike ended up with 622 the highest possible score in 2018.
