Michael Smith is the first player through from the Main Stage into the Last 32 of the 2022
UK Open after denying Chris Dobey in a 10-7 victory.
The two-time World finalist produced an assured display to win through averaging 99.9 and hitting seven 180's with 47% on the doubles to begin his quest once more for a maiden major title.
Also going around the boards,
Vincent van der Voort saw off Jermaine Wattimena in an assured display on Stage Two. While in the multi-board room, there were wins for
Damon Heta,
Sebastian Bialecki, Martin Schindler, Stephen Bunting and Jim Williams.
As well as a comeback win for
Ryan Searle who reached the final last time darts descended on Minehead and he stopped Adrian Lewis who again failed to back up an incredible display to open up.
