Smith wins without losing a leg, Gurney easily through to quarter-finals

Michael Smith has noticed the third whitewash in the first round of the Shanghai Darts Masters. The former world youth champion left Xiaochen Zong with no chance: 6-0. Daryl Gurney booked a 6-1 victory over Lourence Illagan.

Just as earlier on the afternoon, the Asian players were not able to cause upsets against the established order of the PDC. Nevertheless, Smith showed a very stable display with an average of 98, three maximum scores and a checkout percentage of forty percent.
Gurney dropped one leg against Ilagan, who certainly had opportunities to take more legs. The Filipino missed nine darts on the doubles, divided over four different legs.
