'The Iceman' broke his average record minutes after it was sealed but it was 'The Bullet' that ruled the day on the first
World Series of Darts of the year as he hit a 99 average with five 180's, 47.1% on the doubles on his return to the darting roadshow. He also thrashed Chris Dobey and saw off Luke Humphries on the final day in a superb run.
Bunting missed the chance to break but Price was made to chase around the board and couldn't succeed allowing the former to take a 1-0 lead.
Bunting missed 70 for 2-0 but Price couldn't get a shot from 170 and 'The Bullet' doubled his lead. Price finally got on the board at 2-1 down holding throw.
Price missed two darts for 91 to break and Bunting returned for 3-1. Bunting pinned 85 on the bull for 4-1. Price hit a superb 85 going 25, bull for 4-2 down.
Price hit a huge roar as he pinned double 10 for 4-3 down at the break. But on return, Bunting hit 76 for 5-3. He hit 180 to leave 81 which he pinned for 6-3. An 80 checkout saw Price go 6-4 down.
Bunting broke for 7-4 to go one away after Price missed 148 and he claimed the win from there to seal the title. A popular winner on his World Series return. The action now heads towards Den Bosch from here next weekend with the Dutch Darts Masters.
In his first World Series in multiple years, he scoops his first title in a year where he will get the opportunities he has deserved for his form in the past 18 months.
