The afternoon session is complete at the 2024
Dutch Darts Championship with
Ryan Searle and
Danny Noppert making it into the final day in Rosmalen after two superb displays to end the session.
Searle in particular shined as he was down and out against James Wade being 3-2 down to 'The Machine'. But he managed to find a mid match surge and reeled off four legs on the spin to find a 6-3 win over the Aldershot ace. He hit a 100 average and a high checkout of 154 to leave the session as one of the most impressive displays of all this weekend so far.
While Danny Noppert had an almighty struggle in facing Andrew Gilding. But he managed to find a way with the Dutchman sealing a narrow 6-5 win for a spot in the Last 16.
He averaged 93 with 6/13 on the doubles. But it should've been a lot easier. He looked to be cruising going 5-2 up with a 52 checkout and heading towards the finishing line. But Gilding reeled off three legs in a row as Noppert just couldn't get over the line.
The crowd would've been holding their collective breath. But after Gilding missed 141 for the win, Noppert snatched it on double three. Really hard work for Noppert, but he is through.
