Suljovic silences doubters with straight sets De Decker win at PDC World Darts Championship, set to face Van Gerwen next

The pre-Christmas joy continues for the seeded players with Mensur Suljovic the latest through to the third round at the 2022/23 PDC World Darts Championship.

Suljovic saw off a potential banana skin in Mike de Decker in a straight sets triumph for 'The Gentle'.

Looking good on his return to the European Tour, he has since failed to deliver on that promise but will look to do so on the biggest stage of all. Next up is a certain Michael van Gerwen.

He punished a below par De Decker on the doubling front sealing the first set 3-1 with 60% on the outer ring before 'The Real Deal' wasn't that in the second as he was made to rue set darts missed in the previous leg and Suljovic sealed it in the decider.

De Decker missed darts to break in the third set but Suljovic went 2-1 up with a 180 and double 16 before breaking on double 20 to seal the win after a 180 with a poor leg from De Decker seeing the Belgian head out.
