Mensur Suljovic won an exhibition tournament in Frankfurt last week. Under the watchful eye of thousands of fans, he took the win at the Darts Open Frankfurt.
The event started with a group stage. Suljovic was in Group A together with Phil Taylor and Michael Bürkle. Bürkle got a wildcard for this event after winning a qualification tournament. Against Taylor and Suljovic, however, he failed to pick up a leg, allowing the two pros to advance to the semi-finals.
In Group B were Simon Whitlock, Fallon Sherrock and Fabian Schmutzler. The latter won 3-0 against Sherrock, but lost 3-2 to Whitlock. Still it was enough to go through the tournament together with The Wizard.
Suljovic then triumphed 4-1 against Schmutzler in the last four, while Whitlock was too strong for Taylor. The final was won 5-4 by The Gentle.
