Derk Telnekes was one of four Dutch players who managed to secure a Tour Card at PDC European Q-School by finishing third in the Order of Merit.

Telnekes spoke afterwards to RTL7; he admitted that he has felt good from the first day but even he didn't think he'd claim a Tour Card.
“From the first day I had a good feeling, I achieved a constant level four days in a row. I certainly didn't think this would happen beforehand, especially when you saw how many good players were playing here.”
He is not that well known by darts fans and he admitted he is a different player away from the oche than on it: “I'm actually a quiet guy; but I'm a bit of a man in darts.
The Dutchman already knows what to do in the coming period; before he makes his debut on the ProTour: “Especially practising hard and therefore I'll be very well prepared for the coming season on the Pro Tour. The top 64 within two years, and keeping my Tour Card, is of course the main objective.
