It is double Dutch delight so far today at the World Matchplay with Danny Noppert joining his World Cup of Darts teammate, Dirk van Duijvenbode in the second round after battling past Brendan Dolan on Sunday.

Noppert reeled off six consecutive legs from 6-4 down to defeat Dolan 10-6 with a 100.7 average, seven 180's and 59% on the doubles as the UK Open champion lived up to his billing.

Dolan began the steadier of the two sealing a hold of throw on double eight to go 1-0 up. But Noppert began his throw with six perfect darts but faltered going for the nine-dart finish but finished it off on double eight for an 11-darter to make it 1-1.

Dolan followed it with an 87 checkout to make it 2-1. The superb standard between them continued and Noppert continued to send it with throw with a 65 checkout on double four. A 72 checkout saw Dolan take the lead into the first break 3-2.

A superb 135 checkout saw Dolan return in majestic fashion to break and go 4-2 up before pinning double 16 for a 5-2 lead.

A 136 and double 20 saw Noppert stop the rot and hold to make it 5-3. He found his form though and hit a 180 to leave 42 as he broke throw to make it 5-4.

Despite missing an initial break opportunity though, Dolan returned for a second break on double eight for a 6-4 lead at the next break.

Noppert missed with the second dart off the 170 but set up 36 in case Dolan didn’t hit 80 which he didn’t and ‘The Freeze’ returned to pin double nine to go 6-5 down and was throwing for parity at 6-6.

He started his throw with his sixth 180 of the match and went back-to-back again but missed the eighth dart only to return again for an 11-darter for 6-6.

A 137 from Dolan left 74 on his throw but he was all over the place chasing round the board giving Noppert a shot at 120 not getting the treble. But three darts to hold went begging and Noppert himself returned for double eight to make it 7-6.

He led for the first time in the contest and held throw under pressure with a 120 checkout at 8-6. He had a break chance but just missed double 18 for a 156. But three more darts to hold from Dolan went begging and Noppert hit double nine for a 9-6 lead. He got over the line from there on double 20.
