'The Sniper' hits the mark and wins his second Challenge Tour title

The seventeenth tournament of the PDC Challenge Tour 2024 has fallen to Connor Scutt. 'The Sniper' captured his second career Challenge Tour title in Milton Keynes on Friday.

The Englishman needed to win eight matches to record his tournament victory. He defeated Rene Eidams (5-1), Gethyn Bennett (5-3), Ultan McDyer (5-1), Ted Evetts (5-3) and Adam Lipscombe (5-4) to secure a spot in the quarterfinals.

In the last eight, Scutt proved too strong for Darius Labanauskas, 5-1, before settling with Carl Wilson (5-3) to qualify for the final. Tom Sykes became the opponent in the final after Sykes defeated Jimmy van Schie (5-2) and Bradley Brooks (5-2), among others. The final was then won 5-3 by Scutt.

The Challenge Tour circuit is open to players who participated in the Q-School but did not win a Tour Card. On this tour, starting tickets for the 2024 Pro Tour and Tour Cards for 2025 and 2026 can be earned. The highest-ranked players on the PDC Challenge Tour Order of Merit qualify for the reserve spots at the Players Championship tournaments.
