Cameron Menzies is slowly but surely working his way up the PDC Order of Merit. The 35-year-old Scot, has now climbed to 47th place and in his current form, can certainly dream of more.

By his own admission, Menzies is feeling particularly good. "I've been playing pretty decent," Menzies says with a smile in conversation with Tungsten Tales. "Obviously I've not done anything yet, but getting a couple of later runs in the Pro Tours and stuff is obviously a step in the right direction. So I'll take a semi-final this year and hopefully I can go one better at the end of the season, then maybe one day win a Pro Tour! I think that'll be quite impressive if that happens."

'Cammy' captured his Tour Card in 2022. "I'm quite happy just to keep my Tour Card and I think by the way this year started, I don't need to worry about it the last four or five events," he assesses. "Keeping the Tour Card is the main thing for me and I've had a decent start to the year, now hopefully the back end is the same."

In fact, Menzies almost managed to qualify for the World Matchplay recently. "I never really thought about it. I just played each game as it come and the way I was playing and I was doing stuff, I felt like that I was playing good enough," he reflects on the near miss to Blackpool. "I knew I was not far off the thing, but I didn't do much the last couple events."

Menzies may not have qualified for the World Matchplay, but he was still present at the Winter Gardens to cheer on his girlfriend at the Women's World Matchplay. Menzies' partner Fallon Sherrock reached the final, but was unable to reclaim the title, losing out to Beau Greaves in a top quality contest. "It's a bit harder watching her because I can't do anything!" Menzies laughs. "I just try to keep her calm and keep her focused and stuff but yeah, it's different. I was glad she got to the final because last year she lost the first game. She played well in the final too, Beau was just amazing, so she walked off the stage proud because I don't think she played that bad."

In terms of his own goals for the future however, the Scot hopes to one day compete for his country at the World Cup of Darts. With Peter Wright notably struggling to find his form of late however, Menzies may soon get his chance to represent his country. "I think there's still life in the old dog yet!" Menzies answers however. "I just feel like maybe the confidence is just a bit down now, which is obviously a massive thing in this game. But, I think he'll stick around a bit more because we need players like Peter Wright. He's different and he brings so much to the game. He loves the darts too because anybody who puts that much effort into changing darts and stuff obviously still enjoys the darts because he must practice a hell of a lot."
