The PDC has released a new alternative world rankings. This takes into account only the last 200 legs played by each Tour Card holder, showing who is in the best form.
The official world rankings are currently led unchallenged by Luke Humphries, who won the World Matchplay just last month. Humphries has earned almost 600,000 pounds more than his closest pursuer Michael Smith in the PDC Order of Merit. The 29-year-old Englishman is also untouchable in the form guide. Humphries is the only one to average over 100 in his last 200 legs played. His doubles percentage is also particularly high at 41.84%. Notably, Michael Smith does not appear in the top ten in these alternative world rankings.
There is still a Smith in second in these alternative world rankings though, that being Ross Smith. The Englishman recently broke into the world's top 10 for the first time in his career and it's not too hard to see why. He averaged 98.43 during his last 200 legs played and nailed 40.84% on his doubles.
The top three in this alternative world ranking is completed by Gary Anderson. 'The Flying Scotsman' records an average of 97.86 and 39.09% on his doubles. Still a striking difference with the official world ranking, where the 53-year-old Scot is down in 22nd.
In fourth place we find Mike De Decker. The 28-year-old Belgian, 36th in the official world rankings, won his first PDC ranking title last week and achieved an average of 97.62 and 37.79% on his doubles during his last 200 legs played.
In the top ten we also find two Dutchmen with Michael van Gerwen (9th) and Wessel Nijman (10th). Van Gerwen, who is ranked third in the official world rankings, recorded an average of 97.02 and 37.82% on his doubles. Nijman, who has climbed to 78th place in the official world rankings, averaged 96.92 and 44.45% on his doubles in his last 200 legs played.
