For 22 years, the highest average thrown at the World Grand Prix has stood in the name of Alan Warriner. The original 'Iceman' threw an average of 106.45 during the 2001 edition in his first-round match against Andy Jenkins.

In recent years, no one came close to that. Gary Anderson came the nearest in 2013. On that occasion, the Scot won 2-0 in sets over Jelle Klaasen at the World Grand Prix thanks to an average of 104.86.

That same year, Michael van Gerwen threw a 104.47 average at the double-in double-out tournament. Furthermore, the Dutchman also threw averages of 103.09 and 101.54 at the World Grand Prix. Five of the remaining six spots in the top ten are held by Phil Taylor. Dave Chisnall also has a listing in the list of highest averages ever at this tournament.
