Darts will stop for a day on Dec. 31 so the remaining players at the 2025 World Darts Championship can enjoy the final day of 2024. From New Year's Day, the tournament will resume at Alexandra Palace with the quarter-finals.
The PDC has announced what the schedule looks like for the matches on Wednesday, Jan. 1. Interestingly, it has chosen to place Michael van Gerwen in the afternoon session. Van Gerwen will take on Callan Rydz in the second quarterfinal. Before that, Chris Dobey and Gerwyn Price will first battle for a spot in the semifinals of the World Darts Championship.
On Wednesday night, the other two quarterfinals will be played. This evening session kicks off with a showdown between Peter Wright and Stephen Bunting. Wright caused a huge sensation in the fourth round by eliminating defending champion Luke Humphries. In the final quarterfinal, teenage sensation Luke Littler will be in action. 'The Nuke' will battle compatriot Nathan Aspinall.
