THROWBACK: Raymond van Barneveld's legendary welcome home in Premier League Darts' first visit to Rotterdam

In 2016, the PDC organized a round of Premier League Darts play in Ahoy Rotterdam for the first time. It became one of the finest evenings in Dutch darts history and Raymond van Barneveld's walk-on was perhaps the finest moment of this memorable evening.

The legendary figure in Dutch darts was welcomed home by over ten thousand of the 'Barney Army' faithful. To the sounds of the iconic song Eye of the Tiger, the five-time world champion entered the stage before receiving a hero's reception from the Dutch audience.

"I have won many titles, but a night like this I have never experienced in my career. An indescribable feeling. Really bizarre. It was probably the best moment of my career,'' Van Barneveld said after his draw against Peter Wright (6-6).

Next Thursday, the PDC returns to Ahoy Rotterdam for Night 12 of the Premier League Darts 2024 season. Luke Littler, Luke Humphries, Michael van Gerwen, Nathan Aspinall, Michael Smith, Gerwyn Price, Rob Cross and Peter Wright will compete for the weekly title.
