THROWBACK VIDEO: Beaton hits nine-dart finish at 2019 German Darts Open

Because of the coronavirus pandemic there won't be darts on television or the PDC Pro Tour in the next few weeks. As a result DartsNews will look into the history books and look back on historic, remarkable and funny moments in the history of darts.

This time a throwback to a brilliant leg of Steve Beaton, who celebrates his 56th birthday on Sunday. The Bronzed Adonis hit a nine-dart finish last year during the German Darts Open.

The former World Champion became the oldest player in the PDC to hit a perfect leg during a televised or streamed event. Phil Taylor held the old record as he was 55 years and nine days old when he hit a nine-darter during the 2015 Sydney Darts Masters. Beaton was only twelve days older last year when he produced the leg within nine darts.
