THROWBACK VIDEO: Dolan earns History Maker moniker with first ever double start nine-dart finish at World Grand Prix

From Monday, Oct. 3, the World Grand Prix 2022 will start. In the run-up to this tournament we look back at some great moments from the past of this unique tournament.

Brendan Dolan wrote history in 2011 by becoming the first player ever to throw a nine darter at the World Grand Prix in Dublin. He did this in his match against James Wade.

An extra great achievement, since at the World Grand Prix one has to end and start with a double. Dolan started with 160, followed by a maximum score. The Northern Irishman then managed to throw a 161 finish to complete his perfect leg.

Also it included the dulcet tones of John Gwynne who of course sadly passed away earlier this year and is one of his finest moments.
