THROWBACK VIDEO: Part ends Taylor's unprecedented run of eight consecutive World titles

From December 15, the 28th edition of the PDC World Darts Championship begins. DartsNews looks back on some of the best moments in the history of the tournament.

From 1996 to 2002, Phil Taylor won the World Championship eight times in a row but in 2003, John Part put an end to this impressive series.

In a thriller, the Canadian won the World Championship for the first time winning 7-6 in the last set. It was a second overall with 'Darth Maple' winning in 1994 and his last was in 2008 which was his third.
