Ahead of The Masters beginning on Friday in Milton Keynes, we take a look back at another recent final from the tournament involving Michael van Gerwen and Gary Anderson.
Van Gerwen was the defending champion defeating Dave Chisnall the year before 11-6 in the final; he successfully defended this title winning his third
Masters crown in a row with a 109 average.
He has since won every single Masters title since then; he will aim for a sixth in a row this weekend.
All eyes will be on Van Gerwen this time around; with multiple factors involved such as using new darts from Winmau and losing to Peter Wright in the final of the PDC World Championship, hence relinquishing his crown at the Alexandra Palace.
