THROWBACK VIDEO: Van Gerwen sees off Taylor to claim maiden Premier League

As the Premier League Darts is currently not taking place due to the Coronavirus, DartsNews takes a look back at a classic final from the 2013 edition involving Phil Taylor and Michael Van Gerwen.

It was Van Gerwen’s first appearance in the competition and after topping the table before the Play-Offs, he went into the playoffs alongside Taylor as the players to beat.
They lived up to that billing in a brilliant final; which was just edged by Mighty Mike.
Taylor went 5-2 up but missed doubles allowing Van Gerwen to get back into it and from there it was a match that flipped between both players but MVG as he often does hit back towards the end and claimed it 10-8.
