THROWBACK VIDEO: Wes Newton delights home crowd with nine-dart during World Matchplay

As the World Matchplay edges closer with the draw and schedule being confirmed for the showpiece event which takes place in Blackpool, we take a look at another classic moment.

This time it is the form of Wes Newton who hit a brilliant nine-dart finish. He was tied up at 5-5 against Justin Pipe but smashed in perfection to surge into the lead at the 2012 World Matchplay.

In turn it sent the crowd into raptures with them seeing a second nine-darter in 24 hours after Michael van Gerwen hit one against Steve Beaton.
