Gerwyn Price has took to social media to admit he is slightly burned out after his exit at the International Darts Open in Riesa. But with a caveat that he is super positive about his game right now.

Price as expected was gutted to lose out to Nathan Aspinall. 'The Asp' is into tonight's Quarter-Finals after reeling off four consecutive legs from 5-2 down to seal it in a deciding leg with a 121 checkout on the bull.

Price usually the king of Riesa was perhaps the biggest doubt coming into this weekend after he had to withdraw from an exhibition last weekend. But he rebounded by winning another Players Championship last Monday.

He then reached the final of the Premier League in Berlin all while seemingly battling an injury. But despite losing to Aspinall, he keeps his head held high.

"Gutted to lose today," he wrote. "But so happy to be on the way home. Too much darts atm (at the moment)."

But he followed it up with a more positive caveat. "Playing so well," he concluded his story.

It is at a time when players are starting to feel the burn out that comes with the schedule of ProTour, Premier League then sometimes European Tour most weeks. Luke Humphries admitted feeling emotionless and that darts was a chore right now regarding the current schedule so for some it is taking a toll.

“When I’m up on stage I am just feeling emotionless," said Humphries. "It’s weird and it’s me being honest to all the fans. I feel like my emotions are just all over the place. It’s not that I don’t want to be here — it just seems a chore for me at the moment.

“It’s just too much darts. I’m playing too much. I think I need a break. I’m emotionless and it is not good for my mental state. The emotion was drained from there. Usually I have the fight in me."
