It is a fifth ranking title of the season for
Dave Chisnall who ends the PDC's run at the Barnsley Metrodome as the top seed and the top player on the ProTour with
Players Championship 30 glory.
Chisnall saw off Jim Williams in the final 8-4 with a second ProTour title of the season to add to a European Tour trio. After injury doubts recently, he has dispelled them and after losing out to Gerwyn Price yesterday in the final of Players Championship 29, he has erased that already with another title.
Chisnall led 2-1 early on hitting double 12 to break. He hit double eight for 3-1. Williams missed two darts to hold after Chisnall looked to spurn a break chance and the latter sealed a 4-1 lead on double nine.
Chisnall missed 130 on the bull for 5-1 and Williams missed 143 on double 16 for 4-2 and this allowed the former to go three away from the title.
It was 6-1 to Chisnall. He missed darts to go one away and Williams broke back at 6-2. He held for 6-3. Chisnall when it looked like Williams was coming back into the tie pinned a 167 on the bull to go one leg away from the title.
Williams missed three darts to stay in the tie and Chisnall took aim for the match missing double 20 for the match and Williams prolonged proceedings but only for another leg as the St Helens ace sealed it.
