Two Dutchmen chase James Wade at final tournament in qualifying race for World Matchplay

Wednesday's Players Championship tournament is the final event in the qualifying race for the World Matchplay. After Players Championship 14, the field of participants for the major tournament in Blackpool will be complete.

Due to Tuesday's results, it is known which sixteen players will be among the top 16 on the seedings list at the World Matchplay. They cannot meet in the first round. The order of these sixteen names can still be changed on Wednesday.

In addition to the top-16 of the world rankings, the top-16 Pro Tour Order of Merit will also qualify for the World Matchplay. The first thirteen names on the Pro Tour list are already certain of placement. The last three qualifying spots are currently held by Luke Woodhouse, Andrew Gilding and James Wade.

Number sixteen Wade has a 1,500-pound lead over Kevin Doets, number seventeen on the list. Doets will need to reach at least the third round on Wednesday to overtake pThe Machine.

Dirk van Duijvenbode may also still dream of the World Matchplay, although 'Aubergenius' will need to reach at least the final at Players Championship 14. Callan Rydz and Mike de Decker also need at least a final spot, while Cameron Menzies, Jermaine Wattimena and Gabriel Clemens still have a chance to participate in the World Matchplay with a title.
