Two nine-dart finishes in one day: Nathan Aspinall throws second perfect leg at Players Championship 31

Nathan Aspinall threw his second nine darter at Players Championship 31 this Tuesday afternoon. After throwing a perfect leg in the second round against Steve Lennon earlier in the day, 'The Asp' hit it again in the last 16.
The Englishman played in the last 16 against Lukas Wenig. At 3-3 Aspinall hit a nine darter for the second time today. As in his match against Tricole, he threw 180 twice and then successfully hit 141 with double 12.
Partly due to this nine darter, he eventually managed to win the match 6-5, reaching the quarterfinals. At the time of writing this, with a 61st place on the Players Championship Order of Merit, he has virtually qualified for the Players Championship Finals. However, with 3 remaining tournaments to play after today, he is not yet certain to participate in the final tournament.

The Players Championship is in my opinion the hardest title to win, 30 odd tournaments with the top 128 and you have to finish in the top 64 to have a chance of the trophy. - Outside of the Players possibly likely to be included, the PDC and the pissed up punters does anyone really care about the Premier League? Noppert may be consistent in getting to latter stages but cannot recall him winning anything as yet this year. Premier League is still an exhibition event and a promotional tool so just being a good player really is not good enough if your outside the top four in the rankings thats why dour Dobey brings nothing and unfortunately Danny Noppert does not have much off a personality on the oche either.Mysstree14-11-2025
- beating price and rock isn't really luck is it, especially given he made the quarters the two previous years as well. dominated the pro tour last year as well, he was hardly the most dubious of the premier league picks, had a better case than aspinall and price did if we're going purely by merit rather than personality. i think everyone knows he won't get in next year's so you aren't really arguing against anybody on that front.colt14-11-2025

- The Germans and the Dutch are far worse when they play each other. What is your opinion about that? The big money is in England and that is where most of the events will stay. Not forgetting, MVG is quite repugnant - at times. There is huge bias for English players - due to the fact that this event is being played in England. - As good as Beau is, she would have struggled against Trina in her prime. Trina would have beaten most of the men in those days. She was absolutely dominant but won such a disgracefully low amount of prize money. It is great to see her backrichieburnettrocks06-11-2025
- While i do not think dart players should be paid a wage or even expenses it is ludicrous that you get nothing for turning up on the Pro Tour and losing in the first round whereas the officials are being paid a wage. Should have left the World Champion prize money at £500k and split the other £500k down the ranks. A side note to this. Would not surprise me the reason that Warriner Little and Chris Mason are not being retained for TV coverage is because of their support and backing to the players.Mysstree05-11-2025
