Nathan Aspinall threw his second nine darter at
Players Championship 31 this Tuesday afternoon. After throwing a perfect leg in the second round against Steve Lennon earlier in the day, 'The Asp' hit it again in the last 16.
The Englishman played in the last 16 against Lukas Wenig. At 3-3 Aspinall hit a nine darter for the second time today. As in his match against Tricole, he threw 180 twice and then successfully hit 141 with double 12.
Partly due to this nine darter, he eventually managed to win the match 6-5, reaching the quarterfinals. At the time of writing this, with a 61st place on the Players Championship Order of Merit, he has virtually qualified for the Players Championship Finals. However, with 3 remaining tournaments to play after today, he is not yet certain to participate in the final tournament.
