Nathan Aspinall threw a perfect leg at Players Championship 31 this afternoon. This 'The Asp' did in his second round match against Steve Lennon.
The Englishman managed to beat Frenchman Thibault Tricole in the first round to force a duel with Lennon in the second round. After losing the first leg, he hit a nine darter in leg two. Using the traditional route, 'The Asp' threw two 180s before hitting 141 with double 12.
Aspinall then also managed to win his match 6-4, reaching the third round. The 34-year-old is currently ranked 66 on the Players Championship Order of Merit, putting him narrowly outside the top-64 required to qualify for the Players Championship Finals.
So with 3 tournaments remaining after today, 'The Asp' will still have to do everything possible to qualify for the final tournament to be played in Minehead later in November.
