The Grand Slam of Darts took place over the past nine days with Michael Smith the victor going into the back end of the year with the Players Championship Finals and the all important PDC World Darts Championship with the Order of Merit updated to reflect the post Wolverhampton changes.
Smith did not move up for winning the title but has strengthened his grip on the top four spot on £771,000 well ahead of Luke Humphries on £483,500 who moved ahead of James Wade. But it also likely holds additional rewards for the former who will qualify automatically for the Premier League next year if he is in the top four.
While for Nathan Aspinall, he is back into the World's top eight after reaching the final up four spots with movement also in the top fifteen up for Danny Noppert (9th), Joe Cullen (12th), Dave Chisnall and Dirk van Duijvenbode (13th and 14th) all up a few spots.
This due to Dimitri van den Bergh and Jose de Sousa not qualifying with a huge ranking drop for the latter down ten spots to 16th.
While with his best run in some years to the semi-finals, Raymond van Barneveld is up 16 spots to 34th in the Order of Merit, two away from a seeding at the World Championship with that mission being on for Minehead. Currently Madars Razma who moved up three spots due to ranking money for others dropping off holds that spot.
Alan Soutar is also heading towards the top 32 into 37th just behind Barney. Josh Rock also is up into the top 50 in his first year into 48th.
