Raymond van Barneveld returns to the top-32 of the PDC
Order of Merit on Monday for the first time since his comeback. The last time he held a spot among the world's best 32 darters was in 2019.
The five-time world champion holds the 32nd spot after the Players Championship Finals, giving Van Barneveld seeded status for the
World Darts Championship.
That means 'Barney' may skip the first round at Alexandra Palace and thus enter the tournament from the second round. However, he could possibly face world number one Gerwyn Price in the third round of the World Darts Championship. That need not be a problem, as Van Barneveld defeated Price twice in November at the Grand Slam of Darts.
"Well. After retiring and starting from scratch getting my tour card, I’m top 32 on the Order of Merit. I’ve worked extremely hard and it’s not been easy but I’m determined and I feel there is more to come," he wrote on Twitter.
