"This is the time now to play well": Rydz looking to peak at the right time after reaching final day at Players Championship Finals

Callan Rydz stormed past Keane Barry 10-8 to reach the final day of the Players Championship Finals in Minehead where he will play Jonny Clayton after a good weekend for 'The Riot' so far.

"I haven't played my best stuff at all but at the end of the day if you're winning ugly, you'd rather take that than playing well and getting beat. It's like I've always said you've got a chance to put it right but my finishing this weekend has been my dominant point, my scoring hasn't been there which is odd but got a chance to put it right tomorrow (Sunday)," said Rydz to Online Darts.

Off the oche, Rydz has gone through some personal issues but has changed his perspective now and said that with everything going on, it is all for his family now.

"All the time every news I've heard is bad news. Cousins dying and all sorts, that's just a part of life. But getting on with it now and everything I do is for my family now.

He will hope to reach the semi-finals today but will also have one eye on the World Championship and peaking at the right time.

"If you're in a Quarter-Final of a major, you'll chop your hands off for it. I'm happy with getting through. This is the time now to play well."
