Van Barneveld reflects after brilliant win against compatriot Wattimena: ‘I feel so relaxed’

Raymond van Barneveld rolled back the years with an exceptional performance which saw him defeat compatriot, Jermaine Wattimena 6-4.
Van Barneveld spoke after and admitted that he was really relaxed and harbours the belief that he can win.
The Dutchman added that he can’t wait to play for them again when he takes on Dave Chisnall later today.
“I feel so relaxed, the crowd were incredible. Can I win tomorrow? I believe so but we will have to wait and see.
“That was a good performance but it’s tough to play against Jermaine because we both want to do well for Holland.
“I just want to say thank you to everyone for all of their support and I’m looking forward to playing again for them.”

- Maybe the supposed top players are burnt out from the endless travelling and tournaments, I just don't think they have the dedication or outright desire to win. I think they are more interested in the money and being popular, just keeping their rankings steady. The only thing that mattered to Phil Taylor was winning, not winning a few games to top up the money pot and seeking the fans attention. Maybe there is too many tournaments now and the enthusiasm is gone. This year especially has seen so many different winners and unexpected draws and line ups.richieburnettrocks14-11-2024
