Clayton admits ‘confidence is coming back’ after thrilling win over Wade

Jonny Clayton defeated James Wade in a thrilling tie which saw ‘The Ferret’ only win through in a deciding leg.
Clayton spoke afterwards and admitted that his confidence is coming back as he is winning close matches which he wasn’t doing before.
He added that he is even more glad to get the win having had to dig in deep to claim it.
“My confidence is coming back and I’m winning tight matches which I wasn’t doing before,” said Clayton.
“I had to work hard tonight and stick in there because James was playing well, so I’m happy to get the win.”

- Maybe the supposed top players are burnt out from the endless travelling and tournaments, I just don't think they have the dedication or outright desire to win. I think they are more interested in the money and being popular, just keeping their rankings steady. The only thing that mattered to Phil Taylor was winning, not winning a few games to top up the money pot and seeking the fans attention. Maybe there is too many tournaments now and the enthusiasm is gone. This year especially has seen so many different winners and unexpected draws and line ups.richieburnettrocks14-11-2024
