Raymond van Barneveld will do battle with his rival of yesteryear and compatriot in Michael van Gerwen during the second round of the
European Darts Open in Leverkusen.
Van Barneveld saw off Filip Sebesta from Czech Republic who was making back-to-back
European Tour appearances and had his best average so far of 98 with 3/3 on the doubles but the legendary Dutchman edged it on the scoring phase to seal a 6-3 win.
While fresh from his Premier League Darts homecoming in Newcastle,
Chris Dobey played only 24 hours later and after hot footing it to Leverkusen, it wasn't a wasted trip.
He sealed a 6-2 win with a 95.3 average, four 180's and a high checkout of 154 en route to hit the ground running in Germany. Danny Noppert now awaits.
While for
Ryan Meikle, it will be Jonny Clayton tomorrow after he made light work of Nico Kurz who was making his European Tour return.
A 100.5 average, six 180's and 42.9% on the doubles, Meikle was at his clinical best throughout the tie knocking out another home hero.
