Night 11 has began with two of the forerunners for this year's Premier League facing off in
Dimitri van den Bergh and Nathan Aspinall.
Van den Bergh completed the double to get back to winning ways after defeat to Michael van Gerwen last night in a high quality tie which was won 8-6 with a 102.8 average, four 180's and 61% on the doubles.
Aspinall took the opening leg to begin the tie in the form of a 64 finish but went 3-1 down to Van den Bergh who took out 120 for a hold before breaking and consolidating with an 86 checkout.
Aspinall reduced the deficit to 3-2 in the form of a 72 checkout but Van den Bergh continued to keep him at arms length and despite the former pinning an 88 checkout on the bull to make it 4-3, a 136 checkout saw the Belgian head into a 5-3 lead.
He cleaned up 80 from there to make it 6-4 before claiming at least a point with a hold in the form of a 67 checkout at 7-5 up.
The tie though was sent all the way with Van den Bergh missing one match dart and Aspinall stepped in for double 16 to make it 7-6.
But a 125 setup shot left 36 which Van den Bergh pinned to claim both points and a Premier League double over Aspinall.
