Van der Voort in disbelief after Noppert defeat: “It was as if his arrows were doing somersaults”

Vincent van der Voort lost out to Danny Noppert on Wednesday evening during the second round of the World Grand Prix.

“The Dutch Destroyer” started the match well by leading 2-0 in the first set, but gave that set 3-2 to Noppert, who then won 3-0 in sets. Van der Voort was amazed at the way Noppert's arrows landed in the right boxes.

“It was as if his arrows were doing somersaults and still flying in. I've been going for a while, but this is unbelievable. I’ve not known Dutchman like that and we can't say much about it... Noppert he just played well," said a bewildered Van der Voort to RTL reporter Arjan van der Giessen afterwards.

Fast Vinnie's comment was then presented in the interview with Noppert. “I always throw like this and it works. Maybe it's because my flights that move like that'', the Frisian darts player explained.
