Van der Voort reveals issues between Huybrechts and Van den Bergh: "They haven't spoken to each other for a while"

Belgium then did win its opening match against Finland at the World Cup of Darts. The tension on stage was palpable with many initially thinking that it was just a new tactic between the pair but there was more to it than that.

Kim Huybrechts and Dimitri Van den Bergh did not give each other a glance on stage or fist bumps before throwing or after the match.

Van den Bergh danced on stage as usual, while Huybrechts walked off stage in a hurry but pre-match, Vincent van der Voort alongside Martijn Kleermaker on Viaplay let the cat out of the bag that all wasn't rosy.

"It's been a while that they have had problems with each other," Vincent van der Voort told Viaplay.

"It started with an interview Kim had given which Dimitri was angry about. And after that, a number of past problems were brought up."

He said that both are not on speaking terms with each other anymore and while it offered a first win of the tournament, the lack of cohesion especially with solely doubles could disrupt them.
