Van Duijvenbode and Ross Smith set a new 180 record at the PDC World Darts Championship in Ally Pally epic

Dirk van Duijvenbode and Ross Smith provided a true spectacle in the third round of the World Darts Championship on Thursday afternoon. After a sudden-death leg, the Dutchman won 4-3 in sets.

No fewer than 31 times a 180 was pinned. A record at the last 32 at the World Darts Championship. The old record stood at 29. That record was held by Rob Cross and Michael Smith from the 2018 edition.

Ross Smith additionally equalled another record. 'Smudger' himself accounted for 19 out of 31 180-scores. This put him on a par with Gary Anderson, who did the same in 2013.
