Van Duijvenbode believes in his chances against Van Gerwen: "My best game can match his best game"

Dirk van Duijvenbode treated himself to a clash with Michael van Gerwen in the fourth round of the PDC World Darts Championship. 'Aubergenius' defeated Ross Smith 4-3 in the third round after a true titanic duel.

Van Duijvenbode believes in his chances against Van Gerwen. "I start that match as an underdog, that's all the 'bookies' will tell you. But the expectations are what someone else puts on you, I just want to win that match," Van Duijvenbode told TOTO Dart Kings.

Not impressed

"Michael is playing well, you saw that again against Mensur Suljovic, but I am not easily impressed," the 30-year-old Dutchman continued. "My best game can match his best game, although that doesn't mean I'm going to win anyway."
