Dirk van Duijvenbode impressed on Friday evening with a fine 6-4 victory over Luke Woodhouse to reach the second round at the Belgian Darts Championship.
Van Duijvenbode started well with two 12-dart legs in the first five legs. However he survived four missed break darts from Woodhouse in the seventh leg, before he regained the lead with double 10. The Dutchman then broke Woodhouse's throw in the tenth leg with a 72 checkout to claim the win.
Mike de Decker delighted his home crowd with a 6-5 victory over Dutch rival Ron Meulenkamp. Gabriel Clemens also reached the second round after knocking out Callan Rydz (6-3).
