Dirk van Duijvenbode is into his second TV ranking semi-final and his second consecutive on ITV after reaching the final of the World Series of Darts Finals albeit unranked last month with a Dutch Destruction win over Danny Noppert.
Heading into the tie, Van Duijvenbode admitted pre match he wasn't looking forward to playing his World Cup teammate with Noppert the model of consistency.
But 'The Titan' was truly on fire as he reeled off eight consecutive legs as he sealed a 10-3 win with a 104.15 average, six 180's and 47.6% on the doubles.
Initially Noppert went 3-2 up edging into the lead but after breaking to go 4-3 up, it was the Van Duijvenbode show from there on out as he swept Noppert from 3-3 with seven straight legs with 'The Freeze' freezing on the outer ring as he missed 10 darts in all in the contest.
It will now be Luke Humphries or Michael Smith later on for the Aubergenius but can he finally seal a maiden major title.
