A highly touted match on paper again saw Michael Smith again produce when it mattered most as he sealed a superb comeback win over Luke Humphries to reach the semi-finals of the European Championship.
Smith came from 6-3 down to win 10-7 sealing his spot in the semi-finals with a 148 checkout after Humphries had failed to leave a finish to prolong the tie.
This added to eight 180's, a 99 average and two ton plus checkouts saw 'Bully Boy' produce again.
It was the second interval which proved to be the end of Humphries' dominance as Smith came from 7-5 down to turn it around to 8-7 after breaking the throw and consolidating with an 80 checkout.
From there, it was a 12-dart 87 checkout followed by that sumptuous 148 checkout to seal the deal and he will face Dirk van Duijvenbode in the semi-finals tonight.
