Van Gerwen, Anderson, Clayton and Wade among those into last 32 of Players Championship 24

Michael van Gerwen, Gary Anderson, Jonny Clayton and James Wade have all advanced to the last 32 at the 24th Players Championship tournament in Barnsley.

Van Gerwen defeated Connor Scutt 6-2 to force a duel with Pascal Rupprecht. Anderson dealt with Daniel Klose (6-3) and now faces Stephen Burton. Clayton sidelined Robbie Knops 6-4 and will take on Ian White whilst Wade overcame the challenge of Graham Usher 6-3 and now faces Arron Monk.
Elsewhere, Kim Huybrechts defeated Mensur Suljovic 6-1 and the likes of Joe Cullen, Mervyn King, Stephen Bunting and Damon Heta all booked safe passage whilst Raymond van Barneveld and Andrew Gilding were both among those to depart.
