Van Gerwen wins with 112 average at Players Championship 24 and will face Dobey in last 16

Michael van Gerwen has qualified for the last sixteen of Players Championship 24 in spectacular style, producing some of his top-level darts.
Van Gerwen impressed against Pascal Rupprecht by beating the German 6-1 thanks to an average of 112.32. 'Mighty Mike' will take on Chris Dobey in the last 16 after 'Hollywood' saw off Cameron Menzies 6-3 in his last 32 tie.
For the third straight day, Christian Kist has impressed, triumphing against Dom Taylor (6-3) to qualify for the last 16. 'The Lipstick' will now take on Ryan Joyce. Gary Anderson will face Kim Huybrechts in the last 16, and Jonny Clayton takes on Joe Cullen.
The likes of Ryan Searle, Jim Williams, James Wade and Gian van Veen all departed in the last 32, the latter of these being destroyed 6-0 by Dirk van Duijvenbode. The 'Aubergenius' will take on Daryl Gurney next.
