Michael van Gerwen is joint top of the Premier League Darts table on leg difference after a potentially pivotal win against Jonny Clayton 8-5 to end Night 11.

A thorn in the side of the Dutchman as of late, Clayton couldn't extend his winning streak in what could turn out to be important for both players' playoff hopes.
It was a 95 average for Van Gerwen who took out 124 on the bull to win a hard fought clash and deny 'The Ferret' another win.
It was advantage for Van Gerwen early on as Mighty Mike went 3-2 up with a high finish of 117 to start off proceedings.
He moved two clear from there with an 87 checkout for a 14-darter to move two clear at 4-2 as he looked to surge away from The Ferret.
But back-to-back legs paid heed to that at least for the time being as Clayton made it 4-4 in not the highest standard contest with averages around the 90 mark.
Van Gerwen finally landed a first 180 of the match before hitting double four to lead once more and he picked up double 20 to lead 6-4 as he looked to surge away to the finishing line.

He took another step from there hitting double 18 for a 13 darter which assured the Green Machine of at least a point at 7-4.
Clayton missed tops for a 120 checkout in the requisite leg but picked out double 10 to keep his hopes alive at 7-5 and prolong the tie.
But that was all it did as Mighty Mike picked up a potentially important win.
